Phase one of the Western Boulevard bus service improvement scheme is nearing completion. Work will next focus on widening the junction between The Boulevard and The Broadway.

To progress the next phases of these improvement works around the western section of The Boulevard, there is a need to put in place a temporary, one-way traffic management system. From Monday 10 June there is a temporary one-way system with only eastbound access between the High Street and The Boulevard junction opposite Poundland.  The road closure is expected to last until winter 2024. Access to businesses, car parks and residential areas on The Boulevard will be maintained.
